      The Haven in Cloquet offers both adult and adolescent (ages 13-18) treatment programs. The programs focus on abstinence from all mood-altering chemicals as a necessary element in maintaining a quality recovery. Both programs are tailored to individual needs.

      The Haven in Cloquet also offers family education programs, which is important to any client’s recovery, once per week.  This program is one of very few offered north of the Twin Cities.  There is no charge for family members to attend the family sessions.

Adult Outpatient Chemical Dependency Services

We offer an eclectic approach to treatment based on the individual needs and strengths of each client. Treatment modalities include:

• Cognitive restructuring
• Rational emotive therapy
• Family system dynamics
• Psycho-education
• Skill-building exercises
• Reality therapy
• Relapse prevention therapy
• Basic AA principles

Adult Program Schedule

• The Day Outpatient Treatment program meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm
• The Evening Outpatient program meets on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
• Our Family Program is held each Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:30pm
• DOT compliance training once per month
• First time offenders program (FTOP) scheduled as needed

Adolescent Outpatient Chemical Dependency Services

Chemical dependency bankrupts adolescents on a social, emotional and spiritual level. The Haven in Cloquet believes that it is imperative to provide recreational therapy, occupational therapy and spiritual education to enhance the overall recovery process.

      Our outpatient program allows the client to remain active. We place special emphasis on assisting the client with their schoolwork; therefore, our staff includes a licensed teacher who works closely with the client’s home school district.

      Family participation is a crucial component in the treatment process. Family involvement begins during the intake/assessment process and continues throughout the treatment.  Families are required to be involved while their adolescent is involved in our program.

      The flexibility of our treatment program offers unique combinations of treatment options to provide the most complete and customized care possible. Clients are assisted in developing an understanding of their self-harming behaviors and are provided tools to help minimize the risk of relapse.
